Horror story of truth? Both. As I think about my last day in the building my doctors believed to cause mold toxicity in my body, it seems like something out of a horror movie. Did that really happen? I remember walking as my body started to paralyze. The muscles begin to spasm and tighten. It was on my left side first. I couldn’t move my leg on my left side. It felt as though someone had a strong gripe on me. I had to drag my left leg and eventually couldn’t use my left arm or hand. The pain was awful. As hours went by, I begin to experience tightness in my throat and chest. Needless to say, I ended up in the emergency room. I was treated for allergic reaction and muscle spasms. I left in a wheelchair to never return to that building. One would not think the affects of breathing mold or other environmental pollutants could do this to your body. However, I am a living testimony that mold can be deadly. My entire body was affected. My left side is worse. After treatment with my environmental doctors, physical therapy, acupuncturist, and a massage therapist I understand my fascia and muscles were affected. The fascia is a fibrous connective tissue that is present throughout the entire body, not just the muscles. There are three main types of fascia: Superficial Fascia, which is mostly associated with the skin; Deep Fascia, which is mostly associated with the muscles, bones, nerves and blood vessels. There are three main functions that the muscle fascia performs: A)The fascia holds the muscle together and keeps it in the correct place. B) The fascia separates the muscles so they can work independently of each other. C)The fascia provides a lubricated surface so that the muscles can move smoothly against each other. When the fascia doesn’t work properly you become stiff with no freedom to move. I feel like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz in the mornings. I need someone to oil my body so I can get out of bed. My massage therapist tells me my fascia is wadded up like an old pair of fish net stockings. I have to laugh at this vivid picture. Muscles are in every part of our bodies. I never think about the muscles surrounding our lower back or our pelvis. Because of the fascia dysfunction, I also see a pelvic floor therapist. The pelvic floor therapist has to go inside the uterine wall and stretch the muscles on the inside. I have trigger points inside and outside around my lower abdominal area. The cells in my body were damaged due to the mold exposure and other pollutants. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia as well. I’m constantly in pain. I go to bed in pain and I wake up in pain. I am following all the doctors guidelines. I exercise, stretch, rest, try not to eat the foods that potentially make the pain worse for example sugar, gluten, or salt. Sugar is the biggest factor. Since being treated by my environmental doctors in 2012 they continue to press the issue about sugar. My lymphatic system doesn’t drain properly. Partly because of the tightness in my fascia. Our lymphatic system is part of the vascular system and an important part of the immune system, comprising a network of lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph directionally towards the heart. Therefore, my circulation is poor. My God is a healer. I have faith he will heal my body totally. I smile through all of my pain. I had to make a choice, either to lay down and die or keep living in spite of my circumstances. I chose to live. So I readjust my life as necessary. Mold is everywhere but a certain amount of mold is unhealthy for me. I pray. I seek God for direction. My life has changed in so many ways but I’m blessed. I have come a long way in my health! The enemy does not win. In all things I am victorious! I will be completely healed!!! “O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!”

About This Blog
You might think it’s strange or weird to see a person walking around with a mask on. In my blog I will explain why this mask is necessary for survival. I spent years wondering why smells would literally stop me from breathing. I had no idea what had taken over my body like in a episode of twilight zone.
